Catching up on my scanning...

So I have a lot of projects I have been working on. I am loving being in the studio and have felt so driven lately -- mostly by the recognition that this work is me and even if I don't create something wonderful or poignant all the time, it is the fact that I am making and loving the process that is so key.

At left are some p
ostcards I am going to sell on etsy, once I print the postcard part on the back...I LOVE printing on chip board. I also love the new inexpensive font Nina I just bought from the Font Garden...I am loving Font Garden. I just bought my own handwriting as a font too...I can't wait for it to come in! She must be busy with it, as I haven't heard a peep since I sent it last Tuesday.

I have also been interested in the brain a lot lately, the way it functions, mainly in light of a tragedy that hit someone very close to me last week.

So I have been working on that chair more. I decided that YES, I would add the texture at the bottom. Below is the original, the best, and the step I took too far and I think it is too muddy (but I only made muddy a couple of the prints before I realized that this was a bad idea. I have also included a variation have done by printing it on some old psychology pages. (Sorry for the color issue with the original chair. I scanned this a while back, adjusted the color and then adjusted my calibration on my monitor today using Spyder -- so awesome! Turns out it was my monitor that was off, not the scan!)

Finally, there is this print I am working on, but I am not sure whether I want to work into it more...Below on left it is as is, and on right is one of the things I COULD do to it. One of the things I am loving so much lately is the activity of working into things with my hands, or altering things on the fly. I am loving the accidents that happen, like the uneven ink, or the printing information I forgot to tape off, or the showing through of an old print. I think it keeps it exciting and allows for the spontaneity I love so much in art.
